HAPPY BIRTHDAY THAD!!!

Happy birthday to our big one year old!

We love you so much! What a gift this last year has been!

11 and 11 1/2 months

Ok, I'm not being a very good blogger. Thad turned 11 months a few weeks ago and I have not had a chance to post an update. I feel like in the few weeks since Nov. 15 he has changed so much! Here is what he was doing at 11 months.

• He continues to pull up, cruise and is constantly on the go! He is a really fast crawler now and we are wondering when his first steps will be.
• He has learned that he does not always have to do what we want. Yikes! He all of the sudden does not like to have his diaper changed and will not stay on his back (this is a problem with poopy diapers!)
• He weighs 21 lbs, wears a size 4 diaper and size 12-18 month clothes.
• He knows what a lot of words mean and tries to say them - ball, light, hat, shoe, kiss, toy, doggie, kitty, tree.
• He LOVES animals especially cats and dogs!
• His favorite foods are pears, toast, prunes, applesauce and chicken/turkey.
• He loves magazines, books and paper.
• He still loves water and taking a bath.

UPDATE at 11 1/2 months: A few things that are new...

• He is dancing.
• He can stand for a few seconds on his own.
• He figured out open drawers and cabinets (trouble!).

Big Boy Haircut

Thad got his first haircut yesterday. My hair stylist cut it. He was a wiggle worm, but somehow she managed to give him a trim. It looks great!

Merry-go-round

First Trip to the Zoo

We took Thad to the Zoo for the first time and he loved it! His favorites were the elephants and the goats in the petting zoo. We had a great day and ended it with his first ride on the merry-go-round.

Halloween

Thad was a skeleton for Halloween.

He helped carve pumpkins and daddy even took him trick-or-treating with his cousins!

Apple Hill

In October we made our annual trip up to Apple Hill for our fall fix of apple pie and pumpkins. We got some rain that day but it did not stop us from tailgating with some warm apple crisp!

Nap Time Surprise

Thad started standing up in his crib today.

Enjoying the View

Thad loves to pull up on the window sill in his room. The window is low and he can look out and see what is going on. There are a lot of squirrels out there and he loves to watch them run around. : )

10 Months!!

Is Thad really 10 months old!?! Yikes! At 10 months Thad is really a lot of fun! He has settled into a pretty predictable routine and is a happy and very active boy. He has a great sense of humor, is very curious and most of all he loves being around people. It is so fun to watch his personality come out as he grows and learns. Here are some things he is doing.

• Crawling on his knees now, yet still does the army crawl a lot.
• Pulling up and starting to cruise around furniture when he has a spotter.
• His appetite has grown tremendously. He now has breakfast, lunch and dinner and I can't leave home with out bringing a snack. He is a hungry guy!
• He loves books and likes to turn the pages, but watch out he likes to eat magazines. : )
• I swear he has said "water" a few times. It is not a regular thing so I'm not sure if it counts as his first word?
• He loves the fire sprinklers in our place (it is a condo complex). He looks at them and says "ssssss".

Indian Summer

Fall is here although it does not quite feel like it yet. We are having beautiful warm weather - the heat we never really got this summer. We are loving the hints of fall like the leaves starting to change and the apples on my sister's tree.

Nine Months!

Thad is nine months old!! He weighs 20 lbs 1 oz. What a big boy we have. Thad is so much fun these days and he has tons of energy. Here are some things he is doing:

• Crawling - still mostly army style.
• Trying to pull up on the furniture, but can't quite do it yet.
• Stranger anxiety -he is quite weary of unfamiliar faces. He usually responds with a smile for ladies, but men are very suspicious. : )
• Eating like a champ, still likes veggies the best. He favorites are carrots, peas and green beans.
• He has 5 teeth - two on the bottom and three on the top. The first top tooth to come inis off to the side - he has a snaggle tooth. Ha! : )

Gymboree!

I took Thad to a Gymboree class last week. He loved it and was one of the more active babies in class. I'm thinking about signing him up for more classes - it seems like a great way for him to use up some of his energy!

Good Dog

Sometimes Thad thinks he is a dog. He carries toys in his mouth around the house.

Labor Day Weekend Camping at Salt Point

We went camping on the coast at Salt Point over Labor Day. We had such a great time and got lucky with some beautiful weather! Thad LOVES camping and hanging out with other kids!

PS Thad got another tooth on our camping trip. He was sticking out his tongue a lot and then we realized it was because he was feeling his new tooth with his tongue! Ha! 3 teeth total and more on the way!

Music Class

The other day Thad and I got together with Katie and Bea for a fun filled music class. I think the kidos liked it!
