I went to a wedding shower for my friend Michelle on Saturday. It was at Stinson Beach and was awesome. In high school we use to go to Stinson all the time. It was so fun to go again with my same high school buds and hang out. The weather was suppose to be nice, but of course it was foggy, as much of the time the Nor Cal beaches are. It did not stop us from having an awesome day!

Double Date Bocce

On Wednesday night we met our good friend John and his girlfriend, Jessie, for dinner and bocce. What a concept! We went to a place called Campo di Bocce in Livermore. It is an Italian restaurant with indoor and out door Bocce courts. We had so much fun! Of course the Devingers won, but we will gladly accept another challenge if you are willing to risk bocce humiliation. : )

Happy 18th!
Nine years ago today Pat and I went on our first "date". It was all over from there (I think it was actually all over the first time I met him) - I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with him. In that one night I knew he was the love of my life, the father of my children and my best friend. Every month we celebrate the 18th, even if it is just a simple exchange of "happy 18th's". It is my favorite day. Happy 18th Pat.

Walnut Creek's Farmers Market

I try to buy all organic so I do our grocery shopping at Whole Foods. I love Whole Foods, but it can be pricey. I had time on Sunday so I decided to go to the farmers market. I use to go all the time, but for some reason I have not been in months. I had so much fun and oh my gosh - the amount of food I got for $25 was amazing! All local, fresh and pesticide free! Can't wait to go again next week!

Dr. Schmidt & August Check-Up
We went and saw the wonderful Dr. Schmidt at UCSF yesterday. Pat is doing great and staying healthy. Yay! Dr. Schmidt is one talented guy. I wonder if he knows how amazing he is. Yes he has loads of experience, awards and letters after his name, but I think he really knows his success when he sees patients like Pat.
Dr. Schmidt, Thank you for working so hard andfor making the world a better place -
oh yeah, and for saving my husband's life. xoxo

Greek Salad
I saw this on the food network over the weekend on Ina Garten's show Barefoot Contessa. I made it and both Pat and I love it! He likes anything with calamata olives. : )Ingredients
1 hothouse cucumber, unpeeled, seeded, and sliced 1/4-inch thick
1 yellow bell pepper, large-diced
1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
1/2 red onion, sliced in half-rounds
1/2 pound feta cheese, 1/2-inch diced (not crumbled)
1/2 cup calamata olives, pitted
For the vinaigrette
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 cup good red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup good olive oil
Directions
Place the cucumber, peppers, tomatoes and red onion in a large bowl.
For the vinaigrette, whisk together the garlic, oregano, mustard, vinegar, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Still whisking, slowly add the olive oil to make an emulsion. Pour the vinaigrette over the vegetables. Add the feta and olives and toss lightly. Set aside for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend. Serve at room temperature.
