Tilden Park Hike

On Saturday we met some friends for a hike in Tilden Park in Berkeley. It was freezing! Summer is notoriously cold in San Francisco, so when you are in the east bay you expect it to be warmer. Not on Saturday. It was foggy, windy and cold, but we had a great time anyway! Our hike was 6.5 miles long and would have had beautiful views with out the fog, but we made some detours to see some cool things like Jewel Lake. It was a fun hike...hopefully next time we won't have to wear 10 layers of clothing.

Hike for Hope

"Life does not end with a cancer diagnosis —
it actually can be the start of real living"

Yesterday, Pat came across the story of 31-year-old Ryan Krabill who was diagnosed with tongue cancer 5 years ago. He underwent a year of treatment, and now he’s doing great. He just started a 5 month adventure to follow his longtime dream of hiking the Pacific Crest Trail to raise money for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The trail is 2,658-miles and his goal is to raise $26,580 — $10 per mile. Read his story, donate and spread the word! So amazing!

Mexico Vacation Pics

Acapulco was our first stop. Pat and I had never been and we took a tour of the city and of course went to see the cliff divers. I so wish the picture of me and the speedo wearing divers turned out better! Ha!

Unannounced to us, our trip changed and switched ports from Zihuanteneo to Manzanillo. Manzanillo is kinda a nothing town, but has some beautiful beaches. We went on a snorkel trip. To be honest the snorkeling was non existent, but the boat crew did their best and fished out some sea creatures for every one to see.

My sister Michele has a friend that lives in Puerto Vallarta most of the year. She showed us around for the day and it was so great to get out of the tourist areas and see some real Mexico. We took the city bus to a beautiful beach, which was quite an adventure. The beach we went to was awesome...as was the guacamole at the beach restaurant.

Our last stop in Mexico was Cabo San Lucas. We went on a boat ride around lands end, took a scenic drive and walked around town. I love Cabo! It is such a beautiful place. I want to go back and spend a good long week soaking up the sun and views.

Back From Mexico

We just got back from Mexico... and no we don't have the swine flu. We had a great time spending the week with both of our families together. I will post more pictures soon. It is good to be home and back to our healthy habits. Cruises are not for healthy eaters. : )

Bon Voyage!

We are off to Mexico for the week! We are going on a cruise to Acapulco, Zihuatanejo, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo - and it is round trip from San Francisco which is so convenient. My parents, my sister & family, and Pat's mom & grandmother are all going too. It is going to be a big family vacation. We are so excited! Yahooooo!
If you are interested in seeing where we are you can keep track with the ship's web cam - how cool is that!
